Tennis 4 Girls is a community of girls' tennis parents, created by Dr David Paynter (a Tennis Dad), struggling to find competitive peer tennis for their daughters. David saw what "good" looked like when his daughter, who loves competitive tennis, participated in her first AJP Girls Team. David set up this website to create a community of like minded parents of teen girls who love playing competitive tennis together with peers of like minds, abilities and age. And to share available competitive play and squad coaching opporunities for girls across Melbourne.
"Girls play tennis differently to Boys"
only 15% competivie teenagers are girls, about one girl in every club in Melbourne,
and only 25% tennis coaches are women
Together as a group of like-minded parents, we are working with all levels in the Tennis Community (Local, Region, State & National) to bring this Vision to reality for our teen Girls. The target group are girls are aged 13-21 who want competitive tennis play, are beyond beginners and social play (UTR over 3.5) and not seeking to be professional players (Under UTR 5.9) . Our community has encouraged Tennis Australia & Tennis Victoria to set up a weekly girls competition (2026 term 2/3 pilot) at Melbourne Park, and Kooyong to run a weekly Girls Squad. We also seek to promotoe all opportunities targeted for this specific demographic.
Please join our 50+ mailing list across Melbourne and share widely to help build the community!
